Since its inception in 1975, Australian digital pioneer
Fairlight has been at the forefront of media processing technology.
Fairlight's first product was the CMI (Computerised Musical Instrument) which introduced to the world to digital sampling. A few years into the development of the CMI, a new feature was added to the system - "Page R", the world's first sequencer.

Sampling and sequencing are now a standard component of any
artist's toolkit, and these Fairlight innovations have completely
changed the face of music production as we know it today.

Fairlight did not stand still after the CMI, and moved forward with
compelling technologies for Film and Broadcast. Fairlight's passion for excellence has earned them two Academy Awards for technical achievement, and many other industry awards.

In 2006, Fairlight introduced the CC-1 media processing platform. Based on FPGA technology, the CC-1 has reset the price/performance boundaries that limited previous generation DSP systems, as CC-1 delivers unprecedented processing power. As an added benefit, the CC-1 consumes a tiny fraction of the electrical power required by DSP systems - making it the "greenest" media processing solution on the planet.

In 2008, Fairlight introduced the Constellation XCS - a new
mixing desk featuring Fairlight's innovative Xynergi controller.
With self labelingkeys, the Xynergi controller offers the flexibility
of a graphical userinterface with the operational speed of a dedicated controller - truly"the best of both".
